Bleachers
Bleachers have been the standard in arena seating since the beginning of modern stadium construction. The first bleachers were the stone risers of the Greek and Roman arena, where fans amused themselves with their entertainment. Stadiums of the early twentieth century in the U.S. were built with wooden bleachers.

Most schools still use bleachers as the criterion for seating. Bleachers are a thrifty and effective way to seat as many spectators as is feasible into a stadium. Since there is no designated seat, more fans can fit into a row if required. Another benefit of bleachers is that they can easily be transported and dismantled speedily.
Bleachers today are normally construction of aluminum or steel. Because so many arenas have bleachers, seat alternatives have been made available to help make bleachers more comfy. Stadium chairs can be bolted on top of bleachers. Portable folding stadium chairs can snap onto bleachers and can be transported to and from the game. Cushions can be handcarried and are lightweight.
The Traditional Arena Seating Alternative
New arenas still use bleachers. Bleachers are an option to more costly seating. They are still a pragmatic way of sitting larger numbers of spectators in an arena.
